My dear father, Lars Sederholm, was diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease 3 years ago and it’s been a painful journey to witness the steady decline of his brilliant mind. Last year was especially tough as due to Covid restrictions, when we were finally allowed to visit him, it was behind masks and a perspex screen - it was challenging to create contact with someone who struggles to focus and recognise us behind these barriers.

It may be too late for my father, but the focus of Alzheimer’s Research UK is to fund research into dementia and accelerate progress towards treatment for all of the diseases that cause it.
