Pedal to Paris 2018 · 30 August 2018 to 3 September 2018 ·
Setting off from London, this 4-day event involves a gruelling ride through English and French countryside covering a total of 284miles. Once in France, there are rolling road closures so we cycle from Calais to the very heart of Paris without stopping! This is the only cycling event apart from the Tour de France that the Arc de Triomphe closes for.
Along the route we’ll receive a warm welcome as we pass through many small villages that were liberated by the Brits and I may once again be called upon to provide interpretation for local French mayors giving speeches! The ride culminates with a moving ceremony at the tomb of the unknown soldier at the Arc de Triomphe.
It’s a challenging ride and we have little time to train properly so need all the support and motivation to make it to the top of those hills (if anyone suggests that Northern France is flat they are mistaken!) Following tradition, we are delighted that the Warby team will include Rachel this year and we are cycling alongside team Tortin Troopers!! ps despite the photo Jago is NOT coming!
