Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Like most people, I find it heart-breaking when I hear of animal cruelty and would desperately like to help put a stop to deliberate animal abuse and neglect. I was unsure of how to help when someone told me about Pet Respect!
Pet Respect is a local animal education charity that engages with as many primary school children as possible in order to promote anti-animal cruelty and responsible pet ownership. They address issues of bullying and promote The Golden Rule in life: Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. It is hoped this will encourage young children to have a general respect and care for animals as they grow older and reduce animal cruelty in the coming years. As well as visiting schools, Pet Respect also take their therapy dogs to residential care homes and take part in community events.
If you would like to read more about the work undertaken by Pet Respect, please visit their website http://petrespect.org.uk/.
To try and raise money to help support this wonderful cause, I will dressing up as a Dalmatian and running the Vale of York half marathon on 20th September. All staff at Pet Respect are voluntary with no government funding. Any donations would be very gratefully received and put to good use helping the animals and children in the Hull and East Riding area.
