Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. One North East (http://www.1ne.org.uk/) London is an amazing charity that provides an abstinence based treatment programme for addicts wishing to maintain a sober lifestyle. The charity includes a relatives service with counselling support for family members affected by someone else's addiction, and support for teenagers whose parents or carers have an addiction problem. 1NE, formerly known as WACS (Working at Continuous Sobriety) has helped SO many people and has been running for more than 30 years after it was set up by a mother and daughter. Without 1NE many people would not have turned their lives around, and many families would not be restored. 1NE is tiny but its impact in the community is HUGE!!! It has lost a lot of funding over the years and recently lost more. I, and many others, would be devastated if it were not able to continue provide helping people the way it does. It is one of a few services in the country and the ONLY service in its community that is abstinence based. I usually call running to the takeaway shop before it closes exercise, but I have changed my habits, bought a bike and am pushing the pedal to the metal, and competing in the London to Brighton bike ride on 16 Sept!! I would be so very grateful if you could please help me raise as much money as possible for 1NE. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the charity. Thanks so much for your help. Love, Ann-Marie.
