Donations to Stairs And The City will be doubled by the UK government until 22 April 2018 as part of the Help Her Live, Learn and Earn campaign.

Story

I'm taking part in this fundraising event for CARE International because of the amazing work they do to alleviate poverty, and in particular the support they provide to women and girls. CARE believes that if you support a woman, you support a family, and in supporting a family you support a whole community.

CARE's campaign: 'Help her Live, Learn and Earn' means that every £ donated is matched by the UK government, up until 22 April 2018. If you can help me reach my fundraising target of £600, that money will be doubled to £1,200, one £ for every one of the 1,200 steps I'll be climbing of the Cheesgrater (Leadenhall building).

Last year I went with CARE International to Barpak, a small village in Nepal at the epicentre of the earthquake that struck in 2015. We met many inspiring women who had been provided with the training and tools to rebuild their village. Their efforts, in unbelievably difficult conditions were a true credit to their tenacity and endurance. We can help more women and girls living in difficult circumstances in many different countries through CARE's work.
