Story
I am running the Jane Tomlinson 10K in Hull on 19th May 2013 with my sister Rebecca in memory of my brother in law Marc who at the end of May 2010 was taken to hospital seriously ill and was told that he had secondary cancer in his liver.
He was due to marry my sister a week later. Doctors did everything so that he could get married. Marc didn't make a fuss on his wedding day and those who didn't know may not have realised how ill he really was. He made the day so enjoyable with his fun and laughter. This was Marc.
A week after the wedding he was told that the primary cancer was in his small bowel and that it was terminal. Even though Marc fought as hard as he could he died 6 weeks after his wedding.
Macmillan Cancer Support help those who are affected by cancer. This is not just the person with the cancer but the families as well. The do this by providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support. This may be a Macmillan nurse or family support worker. They have internet chat rooms where relatives can contact other people going through similar situtions for support.
Macmillan Cancer Support helped Marc and my sister cope with Marc's cancer. My sister has made new friends through the online support groups and they get together on a regular basis.
I have run the Jane Tomlinson 10K back in 2011 in a time of 1hr 24mins 35secs and I managed to raise about £500 in total. £395 of this was through my justgiving page.
Please help me raise lots of money this time for a wonderful charity which helps lots of people all over the country deal with the horrors of cancer.
Thank you!!
