Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Joseph's JustGiving page.
Joseph was diagnosed in 2015 when he was only 2 years old with two chronic conditions. One of these is PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis) which is a rare liver disease. He was very ill for a long time and had many stays in hospital both in Belfast and England. Thankfully he is doing a lot better now but it took a long time to get to this stage and he went through an incredible amount of suffering that no child should have to go through but unfortunately do. He will carry these diseases and be on several medications for the rest of his life and may require a liver transplant down the line. Currently there is no cure or treatment for PSC.
This Friday 3rd March is Big Yellow Friday - the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation’s national fundraising day. This is a charity which takes action against the effects of childhood liver disease, providing information, emotional support, research funds and a voice for all affected.
There are over 100 different liver diseases that can affect children and young people. The causes are largely unknown; many require a liver transplant – all require a lifetime of care.
By donating to Joseph's page, you can show your support for children affected by childhood liver disease and their families.
