Hello everyone!

On Sunday 7th of April 2024, we will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation. 

Mental health is an issue that lies very close to our hearts, having endured the impact of mental illness first hand. For 8 years, Anna battled with anorexia nervosa, and only through this have we truly appreciated the power of timely diagnoses, personalised care and most importantly, a strong support network. Although Anna was fortunate enough to access this crucial support, many individuals are not. Health inequalities and staggering waitlists for a system that is strained beyond its capacity, make it incredibly difficult to seek help before it's too late. 

The Mental Health Foundation provide life-saving support programmes, research initiatives and policy development. Much of their work challenges health inequalities by helping those at the greatest risk, providing support to countless individuals, from children to those later in life. Such efforts stem from their core belief that prevention is better than cure. This powerful approach not only reduces the individual and societal burden of treatment, but it also emphasises the importance of mental well-being and creates a more resilient and supportive society. 

For Immy and Anna, this is the furthest they will have ever run, a challenge that symbolises the endurance required in the face of mental health struggles, and a milestone in Anna's own recovery.
