Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On the 16th of this month I, along with my friend Kayla, will be hiking Ben Nevis to raise money for Marie Curie. The money raised will go directly to the charity
so that they can continue to provide end of life care to terminally ill
people in their own homes and in 9 hospices around the country. As we get older it is inevitable that someone we care about will oneday develop an illness such as cancer, dementia, heart failure or Parkinson's Disease. Marie Curie work to ensure that those living with a terminal illness such as one of these can achieve the best quality of life possible, including treating or managing pain and other symptoms with medicines, therapies and other specialist approaches. They also provide emotional support tobotht the patient and their family when they need it most.
Some of you will know that I've done a charity trek before, but that was 15 years and 3 children ago! I don't think it's going to be easy, but knowing that the money I raise will go towards helping others at what can be a painful, confusing and scary time will motivate me to get to the summit. Last year Marie Curie helped over 50,000 people living with a terminal illness and their families. Your donation will help to ensure that they can continue this vital wrok in the future.
