Story

Since 2014, the #TeamIrfon swim has raised over £20,000 for the North Wales Cancer Care Fund to help improve cancer care across North Wales. This year, we are back for another Pier to Pier swim to raise money for a cooling cap for Alaw Ward, Ysbyty Gwynedd! The Pier to Pier swim is taking place on Saturday 10th September 2022, with timings to be confirmed, and simmers will go from Beaumaris Pier to Bangor Pier in a 2 mile swim.

Our mum has been involved in the TimIrfon swims since the beginning and we have always watched her do them. This time we wanted to help raise money and awareness, since we lost our Taid in 2020 after he fought a long battle against the disease. Although we have some nerves, particularly in relation to jellyfish, we know that people fighting cancer are strong, brave and courageous and therefore we can easily battle a couple of jellies!
