Okay - lots of you will have donated last time I did something for Cancer Research UK and we raised an amazing amount, over £2000 but I am once again asking for some sponsorship.

My story (for those who do not know) is that my mum is still battling cancer, despite being told that she wouldn't even be here by now when she was diagnosed in late 2009.  My mum battled breast cancer when she was 40 and thankfully went into remission for several years but unfortunately it spread elsewhere in her body and she was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2009 and it is incurable.  My mum is a true fighter and I am so, so proud of her.  Despite her health, she is determined to complete what she can of the 10k Night of Neon event.  It is an evening sponsored walk (not a race), for Christies Hospital around Manchester city centre and Salford Quays taking place this Saturday and she is determined to have another go at actively doing something to raise vital funds for Christies.

Me and both of my sister-in-law's are going to do the walk with her to support her in whatever way we can.  We will have a wheelchair with us and if she gets tired, she is determined to be pushed for as long as she feels up to being outside.

I cannot promise she will finish the walk but, if she doesn't, I will, on her behalf, we are all going to have a good go at it though :-)

It's not nice asking for money but then neither is cancer or what's happening to my mum and countless others and so I have no shame in asking for anyone and everyone's donation, even if its just 10p, so that hopefully, nobody will have to do this kind of event in the future.

I am not setting a fundraising target, I am just grateful for whatever you can afford but please do not forget to Gift Aid!
