Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I can't believe I am due to run the London Marathon, 26 whole miles to run and it is not long until the day of the race is here. I have never run a marathon before! A Half Marathon is as much as I had ever done. So far training has been good and I am clocking up the miles heading towards my target distance before the race.
I am proud to say that the race itself, along with all my hours and miles of training are in aid of raising money for the Cancer Campaign in Suffolk. All the money raised will be available locally and directly help those close to us who are suffering and undergoing treatment.
In recent years, I have known special people I care about, who are either suffering from cancer or have friends and family ill with cancer. It is not only fighting the cancer itself but also having the strength to work through all the treatment. The pain and suffering as a result of the treatment alone is something you never wish for a loved one to have to go through.
My husband, David, sadly lost his father to cancer in July 2010. He was an incredibly brave and strong man with an amazing postive outlook on life. So every mile I train and every mile I run on the day on 17th April, will be for him particularly, along with all the other brave people who fight this disease.
Thank you so much for your support. A-M x
