Story
My father, Wladyslaw (Andrew to his English friends) Maslowicz has had a pretty incredible life. He was born in Nowogrodek, Poland but at just 9 years old was displaced by the Russian army, with his family, to a labour camp in Siberia. He was there for a few years until his family managed to travel to Palestine where he went to a Polish cadet school. When he was 17 he arrived in England, with his brother, with very little English, and in a year managed to take his exams (equivalent to A levels) and pass them with flying colours. Subsequently he went onto University and became a civil engineer. He then had an illustrious career in London, Singapore and Hong Kong at Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick & Partners before retiring back to England in the 1990s. Sadly he now has alzheimer's and his memory is deteriorating rapidly to the point where on some days he now forgets I'm his daughter :( Although he knows me and says I'm his friend :) SO ... I wanted to do something to support research into this terrible disease and have chosen Alzheimer's Research, so all money raised will go to them directly. I AM NO RUNNER!!! However, I am going to challenge myself and run 100km over a month (averaging 3.2km per day). I will begin on Sunday 14th March and will do my last run on my birthday, Wednesday 14th April. I know times are hard at the moment and money is short but if you could spare a few pounds I'd really appreciate it. Thank you for reading this xoxo
