Story
1/8 women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. 55,000 will be diagnosed this year alone.
I last ran the Great North Run 2 years ago. Little did I know that I had secondary breast cancer at the time. I am one of 35,000 women in the UK today living with this currently incurable type of the disease. 12,000 of us will die this year. Today, my cancer is in remission. So today I will put on my running shoes and take it one step at a time...
Oxford Breast Buddy Group is a local charity run by people with personal experience of breast cancer. It offers support and practical help for people who have, or have had, breast cancer and the surgery associated with it. Sometimes just meeting people who really know what it's like to go through it is help enough and this group has been a huge benefit to me personally.
So please donate so that we can reach out to more people.
Thank you
