Story
In September myself and two of my friends will be walking 100km from London to Henley following the Thames path. We are aiming to complete the walk in 24 hours. It's a massive challenge and further than any of us have walked before, but we have done some training and staying true to our team name "A Lot of Ache and a Piece of Cake" to keep our energy high.
As well as the personal challenge more importantly I am doing the walk to raise money for Transplant Sport. Many of you know, but a friend and colleague of mine unfortunately lost his wife to cancer earlier this year. Diane had received a life saving liver transplant when she was younger and the support and friends she made through the events organised by TSUK were something she held very dear.
Transplant Sport also actively work to promote organ donation. Obviously if you are able to sponsor me that would be fantastic and I really appreciate it. However even if you can't and are not already registered as an organ donor please please please consider joining the NHS Organ Donor Register. The good news is the number of matches and life saving transplants are at an all time high but there are still 7000 people currently waiting for a suitable donor. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and sparing what you can for this worthy cause.
