2017 Munro Challenge · 26 August 2017 to 28 August 2017 ·
Thank you for visiting our page! You have made it this far, please make a little donation for us to reach our target.
The two of us (and Archie) are taking part in the Glasgow University Munro Challenge on Saturday the 26th August 2017. This challenge aims to have as many groups of walkers on tops of Scotland's 282 Munros between 26th-27th August 2017 in order to raise funds for appeals associated with the University.
As most people will know, we usually spend our Saturdays in the pub and waste our Sundays recuperating! This prompted us to take on this cool yet nerve-racking challenge. We will be hiking the Arrochar Alp Munros, Beinn Ime, and Beinn Narnain in one day. Beinn Ime is 1011m and Beinn Narnain is 926m and the route to both these summits is some nine miles with 1,325m of ascent!! We are hoping to complete it in six to seven hours (without passing out!)
We are raising funds for The Beatson Pebble Appeal, supporting ground-breaking cancer research at the University of Glasgow. The aim of the ongoing appeal is to provide the most up-to-date facilities and equipment and to help attract world-class cancer research scientists to drive the vital work taking place in Glasgow. For more information, please visit: http://www.gla.ac.uk/explore/supportus/beatsonpebbleappeal/
Cancer now affects so many people lives in different ways. "I (Anna) have lost my God Father to the disease and have seen friends and family suffering after losing loved ones. I believe this challenge is a worthwhile cause and I hope more people will sign up to take part".
To sum up, THANKYOU for even getting this far and we'd be so grateful for any donation, however small! Thank you!
