Cake sale at the National Theatre · 31 May 2012

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

The National Theatre loves cake. Anna Vaughan and Rebecca Munro who work in the Theatre's fundraising team know this. That's why on June 11th they had a cake sale at the NT and raised a stunning £710.60 on baked goods alone.

This is because June is the Motor Neurone Disease Association's awareness month - a charity that not only helps those with this rapidly debilitating and terminal illness, but also invests money to research into this, as yet, incurable disease.

Through our personal experience of losing close relations - for me, my always optimistic Mum, Cheryl Vaughan, and for Rebecca her determined Grandmother Lilian Jack, we feel passionately about what this charity is trying to acheive.

Thank you all for your fantastic support so far; whether donating online or through the cake sale, you've helped us exceed our original target! Ever the ambitious fundraisers, we've upped it, just a notch. So if you're still feeling generous, we'd love your support. We're online until the end of June.  Thank you!
