On Saturday 5th August, I will be attempting to complete the national three peaks challenge which involves climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours! Luckily I won't be doing this alone and will be joined by my old school friends, Kayeigh, Ellie and Katie! 

I am taking on this challenge to raise money for Y Care International, the international relief and development agency of the YMCA movement. 

Y Care International work with YMCAs and youth organisations around the world to support young people with practical help, providing skills training and information, and to help them secure fair access to the support they need.

I will be volunteering with Y Care International from September 2017 on an International Citizen Service (ICS) placement. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.

The first part of my placement is a challenge to raise £800 towards the work of Y Care International  and their ICS partners. The money raised will go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged communities.

As well as the three peaks challenge, I will be fundraising with bake sales, car boot sales etc.. So, keep an eye on this page!
