Anna's St Ives cycling adventure

Camino the Santiago · 9 August 2019
I'm Anna and have been involved with Delamere school for over 8 years, currently a Teaching Assistant. Working in all areas of the school, with children with a huge range of needs. They all face huge challenges daily and I want to challenge myself a little over the school holidays.
So I'm cycling 400 miles from Manchester to St Ives during the summer holidays. As some of you know I supposed to cycle the famous Camino the Santiago from Sain - Jean - Pied - the - Port (France) to Santiago de Compostela (Spain) following the Saint James Trail.
Unfortunately my cycling partner had a very bad contusion/ injury recently and he had to cancel his trip. But I wont give up. I can do Santiago next year. I decided to cycle to St Ives on my own. Travelling on average 60 miles a day, and staying in hostels/ camp sites on route.
I would love to equip Delamere with a class set of Virtual Reality headsets to share throughout school.

This resource will allow children to be stimulated, engaged, and inspired by new visual worlds.
Some children because of their physical disabilities will never be able to explore environments in the way they experience through VR.
Some children because of economic hardship will never be able to experience the environments they can see through VR.
This technology breaks down barriers, promotes inclusion, and offers equal opportunity to some of the most disadvantaged children in Manchester.
