Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to run the Brighton marathon in 2018 for Epilepsy Research because my twin, Alex has suffered from epilepsy for several years now. Epilepsy is a neurological condition, which causes seizures in the brain, which can happen at any time. Sometimes epilepsy can be classed as an 'invisible' illness, as it can be difficult to tell when someone is experiencing a seizure, for example they may not be physically shaking but are just confused or vacant at the time. From Alex's experience, it has taken a long time to understand why she has unfortunately got to suffer with epilepsy, and we still don't know the root cause of her seizures. This is why I have decided to challenge myself in running the marathon for Epilepsy Research UK, as it is a charity that dedicates everything to researching all areas of epilepsy, attempting to improve accuracy of diagnosis and quality of life of epilepsy patients. So my thinking was, that as Alex and so many others have to suffer with epilepsy for the rest of their life, I would spend a day if it takes me that long, to run a marathon in order to try and help raise money and awareness about a condition which I believe is not spoken about enough. No matter how big or small, any donation would be very much appreciated!
Thank you for your support in advance,
