We provide an alternative education for children unable to cope in mainstream school due to social and learning differences. The majority of children that attend our centre have suffered from anxiety, bullying and are on the autistic spectrum. Our centre is in Eltham, London.

Story

Social Arts for Education (SAFE) is something I set up in utter desperation.  My son was ten years old and was having a horrifying time at school.  For years he had been bullied and his well-being was non-existent. I decided to remove him from school, with little plans, other than help him heal and find a love for learning again.

That was nearly five years ago.  Now, he is joined by fourteen other children who were all once in the same position as us.  They are away from the teasing, the violence and the isolation and accept each other as they would their own siblings.

The children at SAFE are very special you see.  Some of them have autism, some of them have anxiety and some of them are extremely shy.  But all of them are loving, sensitive, caring, intelligent children that deserve all the opportunities other children receive every day at school.    www.safeschoolbexley.co.uk
