On 28th August 2022 I will begin a 10 day hike up Mount Kilimanjaro with 40 peers from both the University Of Reading and the University Of Exeter. I will be doing this climb to raise money and support the Meningitis Research Foundation, who's aim is to have a cure for Meningitis by 2030! Seeing as Meningitis and newborn Sepsis are responsible for the deaths of more children under the age of 5 than Malaria, Measles, Tetanus and AIDs combined, it is a foundation I feel very passionately about supporting. I will be doing a variety of challenges to reach my fundraising goal throughout the year, primarily fitness related ones to help me train for my trek...although I am open to any suggestions that people may have ! Any contributions at all towards this fantastic cause would be hugely appreciated. Seeing as I have never raised more than about £100 before, this is a huge challenge for me to accept, but one I am excited to try my best at! I will be posting about any fundraising events I participate in to keep everyone updated about my journey to raising £3.6k, and would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone that has contributed so far.
