Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2018 my cousin Felix was diagnosed with an Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumour (ATRT) - a rare, aggressive and life-threatening brain tumour that required specialist treatment. The tumour was successfully removed in a 10-hour operation at Liverpool's Alder Hey Children's Hospital. A few weeks later Felix started a gruelling and intensive course of chemotherapy. In addition to this treatment Felix spent 9 weeks in Jacksonville, Florida receiving proton beam therapy, a treatment that has only just become available in the UK.
Thanks to the team at Alder hey & Jacksonville - Felix is doing great and will celebrate his 3rd birthday on 2nd February 2020.
I just want to say thank you to Alder Hey so I plan to swim 2.5km on 29th March and raise as much money as I can for them. this is 100 lengths of my swimming pool.
I will swim more if I can - I am currently working towards my stage 8 swimming badge so it won't be easy, but I will try my hardest to earn as much money for Alder Hey as I can. Please donate what you can, or any messages of support will be awesome.
Thank you
Annabelle - aged 9 years old
