The page should state 'Save The Children' rather than British Heart Foundation!  All funds donated so far will be transferred, I will be sending an updated link tmrw a.m 16/03/11 until then please hold off donating - I'm such a numpty!

We're all aware of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan.  I lived there working as a voluntary care worker (many moons ago!) and experienced their last awful earthquake which killed over 6000 people, so this is very close to my heart.

I know that we're all feeling the pinch lately but any money that you can donate would be hugely appreciated, every single penny will go to Save The Children.

Save The Children have launched a £1 million appeal to help families affected and have a team in Sendai, one of the worst affected areas, establishing an operations base to help the most vulnerable children and their families. 

The teams will be setting up a network of child friendly spaces. Staffed by trained volunteers and furnished with toys and games, these spaces are safe havens for children to play and socialise with peers their own age, helping them recover from the trauma of the disaster they have just experienced.
