A last minute decision, as is always the way of things, but one in which I feel to be the right one. I love a challenge and this is going to push me to the limit! 

In just over a month’s time, on October 2nd, I will be completing the TCS Virtual London Marathon. My route will take me across Portsmouth, along the coastline up to Farlington and back down to Southsea. It sounds pretty straightforward  but mind over matter will 100% be my mantra! If you see me, do give me a cheer - I love positive energy. The marathon needs to be completed within 24 hours but I hope to take on the distance in one go! 

Why would I do this?! Simple really. I am a trustee for a small charity, The Thunder Foundation. My family have been closely connected to the work of this phenomenal charity for many, many years. Based in Naroibi, Kenya, the purpose and passion behind their work is in providing support to young people; raising awareness and funds that are spent only on covering the costs that establish for each and every child the very best start in life: access to a free education with costs of school uniform, food and books included, access to free healthcare services as well as establishing relationships that are built on kindness and  respect. Thunder now works with 40 children, to include children with Special Educational Needs who require support that is unique to each child. I was fortunate to meet many of the children and families when I visited the Kawangare slum a few years ago. 

If you are in a position to be able to, your generosity in donating whatever you can would be so appreciated. I have the best friends and family who I know will back me all the way and every penny raised will give me the push I need to complete what is to me a mega challenge!
