Story
In Summer 2011 I went on a 10-day mission trip to Cihei, Romania to work as a volunteer with The Smiles Foundation. This trip really showed me what an impact the work of Smiles has on the lives of those in need and I felt an urge to be back in Romania for a longer period of time. I therefore went back to volunteer with the organisation for a month in summer 2012. I will graduate from Durham University in June 2013 and have decided to spend a year volunteering with Smiles.
To cover my costs for the entire year (accommodation / food / contribution to project expenses...etc...) I need to raise £6000. I couldn't have done my previous trips to Romania without the support and encouragement of those many people who did assist me and I really can't thank those people enough. Having now helped with the organisation on two separate occasions I can vouch for the work that Smiles do and have personally seen how they are working to create smiles and change peoples' lives for the better.
If you do feel able to donate then it is very much appreciated and I can guarentee that your money is going towards an extremely worthwhile cause.
