As many of you know I experienced a few very scary months last year when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and decided post op that this year I would enter a charity event to raised money for Maggie's Centre. I'm taking part in the Race for Life 10k (I thought 5k was far enough but my daughter had other ideas) and have been pounding the streets and country paths in East Lothian. I can now cope with small inclines AND run into the wind without collapsing!

I count myself as one of the lucky ones, having returned to full fitness and am raising funds for a Scottish resource which is an invaluable support to many people with cancer.

My thanks to Lois who has copied her Mother's habit of exaggerating......"you're at the top of the hill - it's not far now - that's the worst's over" .....Really?!
