The Descent at Battersea · 3 November 2012 to 4 November 2012 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thank you for visiting my page. Having taken part in a night marathon and fire walk, the time has come for me to do something else. I have decided to take part in "The Descent", a 100ft abseil down Battersea Power Station. All the money raised goes to the Stroke Association who provide help for the victims and families of those who have suffered a stroke. Below are some facts about Stroke:

- Stroke is the third most common cause of death in England and Wales, after heart disease and cancer
- Over 300,000 people are living with moderate to severe disabilities as a result of stroke
- Three times more women die from stroke than breast cancer

Possibly not the smartest decision, as I have never done abseiling before, but I'm confident that when the time comes, I'll step-up (or step-off) to the challenge. I am grateful for any dontations, no matter how small.

Thank you!
