London Landmarks Half Marathon 2020

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 · 1 August 2021 ·
This year I wanted to challenge myself, so I decided to sign up to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Injustice, inequality and poverty are causes I'm particularly passionate about so hopefully this new challenge will help me to improve my mental health, and raise money for Save the Children.
Save the Children exists to help every child, working in over 100 countries including the UK, ensuring that children stay safe, healthy and keep learning. They find new ways to reach children who need them, working with local people (as opposed to sending out international volunteers) in order to encourage self-sufficiency and build skills locally. They stand up for children's rights and made sure their voices are heard.
Everyday I'm grateful for my privilege and the opportunities given to me simply for being born in London. Not everybody has this, with 43% of children in London living in poverty! Imagine, in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, so many children go to bed hungry, cold and have lower life chances.
I hope you'll be able to support me whilst I take on this challenge to support vulnerable children. Please dig deep for this amazing cause - a donation of £12 could provide an early years book for a child attending pre-school in a refugee camp and £24 could supply 150 sachets of therapeutic food paste to severely malnourished children.

Every child has the potential to change the world, and should be given the opportunity to do so.
