Story
Our dear friend Sandra, sadly lost her beautiful daughter Isabelle, aged 23 on 18th September 2020.
Isabelle was a bright, young, beautiful girl who happened to have epilepsy. She had her first blown seizure aged 19, having had absent seizures for 5-7yrs prior to that.
SUDEP is the Sudden Unexpected Death of someone with epilepsy. Each year more than 1 in 1000 people with epilepsy die from SUDEP and if seizures are uncontrolled, this risk can increase to 1 in 150.
None of us had heard of SUDEP before.
SUDEP Action is dedicated to raising awareness of epilepsy risks, doing research and providing services which include bereavement support and counselling.
In the wake of her first anniversary, please join us in our walking challenge as we aim to raise money and awareness of SUDEP in Izzy's memory.
So, what is the challenge?
For the month of September we will be competing against each other to see who can clock up the most miles by either run/walk (no cycling unfortunately!!).
Prizes will be given to the top 3 competitors, with weekly spot prizes throughout the month too!
How to join?
1. Please donate £10 to this page for SUDEP as your entry donation.
2. Download UnderArmours MapMyWalk on your smart phone, this will track your miles via phone/smart watch (this app is free!!).
3. Search for 'Tara McLoone' who will send you a request to join the challenge.
4. Get on your trainers, press start and get stepping!
Many thanks in advance for all your clocked miles and donations to SUDEP in Izzy's memory.
