Story
French's Care Haven begun back in 2008 due to the overwhelming cases of neglect, abandonment and animal cruelty. Set in a rural setting in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, the horses and animals enjoy 18 acres of rolling fields.
All our animals have a past story many very sad and distressing. Take Indi and Faith both racehorses in their prime, sadly they no longer were the fastest and surplus to requirements. Sold on and past from pillar to post they found their way to French's. Faith and Indi are now both happy and healthy living a lovely country life.
Morgan was due to be shot, again an exracehorse sold on. Stabled for 23hrs a day Morgan was even scared of grass. Day before euthanasia, French's stepped in. After long rehabilitation and vet treatments Morgan is now happy and relaxed in life.
Minstrel, one of our Donkeys, was left crippled, distressed and in pain with overgrown hoofs, which has left him with deformed front hoof and knee issues. JUST £25 every 6-8 weeks for a farrier would have saved Minstrel this pain. Now living at French's he lives a happy life with his other donkey friends.
So may horses and animals have been helped by French's Care Haven but it doesn't stop there. A natural progression for the charity was developing French's Care Farm which helps vulnerable people from various backgrounds with learning difficulties and mental health problems. The Care Farm has allowed youngsters and adults to gain confidence and experience and given some life changing skills.
French's is a non profit organisation and rely purely on donations and fundraising. Every little help or support is vital to our lovely little family. 😊
