This Sunday I will be cycling 25 miles to raise money for Helen and Douglas House. Helen House was the first children's hospice in the UK and, alongside Douglas House which provides services for young people, it has helped huge numbers of families at a very difficult time.

You may well be aware that Douglas House is closing due to a lack of funding. I am doing this bike ride to try and raise money for the hospice and highlight the need for Helen and Douglas House to get proper sustainable funding.

To be honest 25 miles will be quite a stretch because, although I use my bike to get around my constituency, it is a very long time before I have cycled that kind of distance without a break!
