The BTRC is dedicated to racehorse welfare, retraining, rehoming & protection for life. Thousands of horses leave racing each year and many face an uncertain future. The BTRC provides an environment where these horses can be re-educated and retrained for use in other equestrian disciplines.

Longest run so far today.... 13 miles - which warmed me up nicely in these freezing temperatures!!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am delighted to have been chosen for the one and only place with The Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre to run in the London Marathon.  It is something I said as a twelve-year-old that I would do before I was forty..... well, I will be forty and one month at the time of the marathon!

Horses have always been a passion of mine and after working with racehorses I have seen how deserving they are of a good quality of life once their racing career comes to an end.

A bit about the charity:-

The Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre (TRC) is the original horse charity dedicated to racehorse welfare, ex-racehorse retraining and ex-racehorse rehoming.  Established as a charity in 1993 and recognised as a leader in racehorse welfare the charity is based in Lancashire. The TRC specialises in the rehoming of racehorses to suitable loan homes.

Each year thousands of horses leave racing, some because they reach the natural end of their career, others through injury, old age or lack of ability.  The Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre provides a secure, safe future for ex-racehorses.

Visit www.thoroughbredrehabilitationcentre.co.uk for more information.

This will be the one and only time that I ever run 26.2 miles so want to raise as much money as I possibly can (you have my word that I will never hassle you again for money..... ever!).

My training is going to plan and I'm finding it really quite enjoyable.  Especially the long Sunday runs; perhaps that is due to being out of the house away from two loud, boisterous boys!

If you would prefer to make a donation by cheque, please make it payable to 'The TRC Ltd' and forward to me at: The Old Kicking Donkey, Clare Road, Ovington, Sudbury, Suffolk, CO10 8LE.

Thanking you in advance for your donation,
Netty
