Age Scotland, Scotland's national charity for older people, works with and for older people, with a vision of making Scotland a great place to grow older.

Story

Last August I lost my beloved 92 year old Grandmother Kate James. Our family while small, is extremely close, but not everyone is as lucky to have family and friends, close by, in later life.

It's for this reason that I want to fundraise for Age Scotland to help their invaluable community work for the elderly and the vulnerable. Recent studies show 2/5 old elderly people in Scotland say that television is their main form of company. Age Scotland is working to provide company and solutions to the problem of loneliness in our ageing population.

Last August was also the month that for the first time in my life I began to enjoy running and while this effort is 'only' a half marathon I'd appreciate all the incentives I can get to make it to the finish line.

Dig deep - all my love Annie
