Shaving My Head · 11 July 2020

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

In February this year, my sister, Ellie, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma - which is a type of blood cancer. These past few months, I've seen how tough chemotherapy has been on her, and now know just how horrible it is to go through something like cancer.

The Teenage Cancer Trust has really been there to support her during this difficult time.

They have 28 specialist units for teen and young adults across the UK, so young people can be treated by teenage cancer experts. The Teenage Cancer Trust also provides emotional support for their patients, as well as the option for a free real hair wig, and, cancer education to schools. To continue providing these services, they need in excess, £9 million per year.

I know from experience that this charity, and the things they do, make all the difference for a young person going through cancer, and their families. So to support the Teenage Cancer Trust and all they do, I'm fundraising with a goal of £1000. The money you're donating will go towards supporting more people like my sister. I will also be donating my hair to the Little Princess Trust, so they can continue to provide wigs. I'll be live streaming the haircut on Facebook on Friday the 10th of July at 5:00pm BST.
