You all know Im not a stranger to running....what you may not know is that I swore I would never run a marathon. Yet here I am and I'm dragging Stephen along for the ride!
In October 2019 I will be flying to Chicago to take part in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon-one of the World Big 6, to test myself to my limits in a bid to raise as much as I can for Alzheimers Scotland.
As if this wasn't enough, I have also signed myself, and Stephen (reluctantly) up to take part in the Edinburgh Marathon on 26 May to further test our resolve and my commitment to the cause.
My grandfather suffers from dementia and I am only too aware of the effects this can have not only on the person, but also to the families and those around them. Dementia doesn't just rob you of your memory, it can rob you of your personality and I want to raise money to ensure as much is done to prevent and support those facing these challenges as possible.

· £96 pays for a Dementia Advisor for a whole day. Dementia Advisors provide crucial local support to people living with and affected by dementia giving them a chance to discuss emotional issues as well as offer practical information and guidance to help people live well with dementia.
· £673 will pay for a Dementia Advisor for a whole week.
· £2,916 will pay for a Dementia Advisor for a whole month.
