The Breck Foundation educates young people how to keep safe when using the internet. We do this by sharing the real life story of Breck Bednar, a 14 year old boy who was tragically groomed online and lured to his death in February 2014. We teach children to ... PLAY VIRTUAL / LIVE REAL

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We had no idea that 3 years ago when we started our ‘Beechwood Runners’ group that we would end up running Marathons! We have shared in the highs and lows of running, when one gets injured the other feels the pain and comes out in sympathy overcoming any obstacles together.
As a group of Mum's, Dad's and teenagers who have a passion for running we felt that running for a charity committed to child protection would be an honour. The Breck Foundation’s mission is to help keep our kids safe in an ever changing virtual world which so often seems complex. Breck and his family touched both of our lives, Annie's daughter was his classmate and Lorin (Breck’s mother) was Sian's daughter’s well-loved and dedicated teaching assistant. Please have a look at the amazing work of The Breck Foundation and please, please dig deep and donate. We can't wait to get to that start line and run for Breck in support of #PlayVirtualLiveReal
