Annie's Walk For Endo Page

Walk For Endo · 6 July 2020
Hello everyone! From 6th July-1st September, I’ll be walking 7.5km in solidarity with the 1.5 million people with endometriosis.
It takes on average 7.5 years to be diagnosed with this debilitating condition and affects 1 in 10. After 11 years of agonising pain and like so many other people, having my pain branded as ‘normal’, I myself am only just being diagnosed. I’ve been diagnosed with a condition called adenomyosis as well, usually referred to as the evil twin of endometriosis.
I’m currently waiting to have a laparoscopy done, something that people with endometriosis can expect to have done a lot.
Right now there is no cure or long term solution for endo and barely any support for people with the condition. For adenomyosis, the only cure is a total hysterectomy. Endometriosis UK has been a life saver for me and so many other people, providing information on the condition and support to help us understand this condition. The information and support on their website has helped me to feel more normal again, something that I haven’t felt for a while.
I can’t begin to tell you how much this condition has changed my life. As well as affecting me, it affects the lives of my closet loved ones as well. I’m doing this for me and all of the people affected by endo, but for my family and all endo sufferers families too.
So, I’m asking you to please support me and give what you can but only if you can. All of the money donated will go straight to Endometriosis UK and help them to keep doing their amazing work, helping people like me and their families. I haven’t got a huge following, so if you can’t donate, you can help by sharing my fundraiser and raising awareness of the condition.
Due to the nature of the condition, I’ll be completing the 7.5km at my own pace and posting regular updates on this page.
Thank you 💛
