Monday 15^th April 2019 was truly a heart-breaking
day. The devastating news of Notre Dame whilst in construction shocked the world.

It shocked me too; throughout the evening, I watched this magnificent
and wonderful Cathedral – the heart of Paris – burn in flames from top to bottom. Watching the coverage on the news on the BBC broke my heart.

I remembered visiting Notre Dame six years ago on a family
holiday. I can remember seeing all the beautiful imagines including the Nave and the Rose Window and hearing the beautiful bells that rung so joyfully. It
was a beautiful memory.

Six years later, I couldn’t believe what I was watching.
Heart-broken, I decided that I wanted to do something. So, that’s why I created this donation page.

I’ve created the page, so I could give my contribution to
save Notre Dame and to help services continue in time for Easter and to allow possible restoration work to continue.

Notre Dame Cathedral (Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris) was
constructed in 1163 and was completed in 1345.

During the French Revolution, the Cathedral was damaged and neglected before it was repaired and restored to life once again, following the publication to Victor Hugo’s famous novel Notre Dame de Paris (or The Hunchback of Notre Dame).   

Since the Cathedral’s completion and restoration (before the
21^st century), Notre Dame became the heart of Paris and it is the
seat of the archbishop of Paris.

In 2013, the Cathedral celebrated its 850^th year.
 

Notre Dame was in the middle of extensive renovation work when
the fire broke out. According to The New York Times “the renovation of Notre Dame was expected to cost nearly $180 million” (around under €160 million).

Although I don’t have much, I wanted to contribute; helping in every way I can at this time.

I know my target isn’t much but I hope this will help Notre
Dame and Notre Dame de France as a contribution. I’m keeping my thoughts and prayers for Paris and for Notre Dame.
