Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be stepping well out of my comfort zone to take on this 24hr self-navigating, self-reliant challenge. At Midnight on Friday 15th November, along with a group of runners, I will set off from Meriden cross (the centre of England), our aim is to run as far as possible, as the crow flies, in 24hrs. There are no official check-points, I will make my own route. My challenge will be to travel at least 75 miles which will be the furthest I have ever run/walked in a 24hr period.
I am raising money for The Gloucestershire Breastfeeding Support Network (GBSN). They provide invaluable breastfeeding support for families at 7 breastfeeding support groups held across Gloucestershire.
Every child who is breastfed saves the NHS money in the long term, the family of each breastfed child also saves money and breastfeeding leads to less impact on the environment.
Further, decisions around feeding a baby can be crucial for families and often have a lasting emotional impact on all involved. GBSN support groups have trained breastfeeding counsellors and peer supporters to offer a listening, non judgemental ear which allows mothers, fathers and grandparents to feel empowered to make their own breastfeeding decisions.
