Del Noble raising money for Surbiton Hockey Club

Surbiton Hockey Club · 21 January 2013
Hello and thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
As captain of the Surbiton Hockey Club #mighty5s, and therefore one of the most frequent users of The Beach (also known as "Pitch 2"), I have seen fit to start this page in an attempt to raise some money to help pay for its replacement.
Surbiton HC need to raise a final £100k for a much-needed refurbishment of our clubhouse / changing rooms, and the relaying of the second pitch, and if we don't manage to raise this sum of money within the next few months, we will lose a time-dependant £200k of grant funding we have been awarded. This is where my fundraising page comes in.
My personal target is £2000. If I raise this amount before April 1st, I will get the club's crest tattooed on me. I have been at the club for 16 years, it is like a second home to me and I dread to think the mess my life might be in without hockey and the community spirit that is prevalent in it.
As much as I love the club however, I'm pretty sure it has the worst club crest in the history of sport (http://tinyurl.com/aq3kku6). I'm not going to enjoy getting it tattooed on me. I mean seriously, it looks like three snakes that had a fight, then got bored.
I am also staying 'dry' until I go on tour with Lastminute Crusaders, which is 29th March. Why? Well, one month off the booze didn't seem like enough of a challenge so I'm effectively doing three. #challengeaccepted...
I feel really strongly about this cause, not least because my knees are almost entirely made up of scar tissue but also because this is a massive time for the club: post-Olympics we have seen a swell in the number of members and we will only continue to grow. With your help we will have the facilities that the club deserves.
