This year, I will be running (with a bit of walking no doubt) the Manchester 10k to raise money for 4LOUIS charity who carry out amazing work in supporting families through stillbirth, miscarriage and child loss.

As a lot of my close friends and family will know, in 2017 myself and my partner at the time were expecting a little girl. 

Not long after finding out her sex and celebrating with close family, it was discovered that she had an incurable condition.

To this day, I’ll never be able to put into words the feelings that overcame us when we were told our daughters chances of survival were nil. Heartbreaking…soul destroying. I could go on.

In the days that followed, we were provided hospital accommodation before Hallie arrived still born on 30th June 2017 at 11.20pm weighing just 120g. She was so small, so fragile but so, so beautiful. 

We continued to be kept in a private ward in the hospital where we were put in contact with 4Louis through Wythenshawe Hospital. 

Because of 4Louis, we were able to keep memory box which included a candle, forgetmeknots, an unofficial birth certificate (as she was not legally registered due to her age), a blanket and hat that she wore when I held her, foot and hand prints and even photos. All of which I will treasure forever as a reminder of her.

What we went through I’ll never be able to put into words. I’ll never forget and I’ll never stop wondering what could have been…
