In 2022 my partner and I started working with Caritas Care to create a family and support a placement for a child/children who need love, care and stability. 

I know first hand how difficult it can be to be brought up in a traumatic environment without that love, care or stability. I have said for many years that I want the opportunity to prevent another child living a childhood like mine. 

Caritas Care are a charity who support early permanence and minimise disruption for children through Concurrent Planning. Caritas Care work with Local Authorities, identify appropriate families who can be approved as both foster carers and adopters and then support them throughout a period of contact and assessment for birth families before final legal decisions are made. 

They provide training and support to foster carers and adopters to make sure they are able to provide the love and care the child needs before, during and after placement. 

As a charity they rely on goodwill and grants to buy equipment for this training and provide the support and I want to help with this.

I ran the Manchester Marathon in April and I’m also (finally) getting to trek Kilimanjaro in 2023 (after 4 years!) and will be supporting Caritas Care with any additional donations for this as the previous fundraising page for Mental Health Foundation has now closed (and was above target).
