In September my dad became unwell from a severe infection that attacked his spinal cord. From refereeing a football match the week before, this infection caused almost complete paralysis within a couple of days. After being put into an induced coma at our local hospital, he was transported to Addenbrookes where they operated to reduce the fluid on his spine.

He has been treated for the infection and is now undergoing physiotherapy to regain as much of his mobility as possible. I will be eternally grateful for all the hospital have done and continue to do to aid dad’s recovery. I am training for a mini marathon to help raise funds for Addenbrookes for equipment which can help other patients in the some position as my father.
