Launch of a BfN breastfeeding drop-in - Presteigne · 24 June 2015

The Breastfeeding Network (BfN) is a UK-wide, independent, voluntary organisation providing information and support for breastfeeding women and those involved in their care. It offers training for volunteers, provides telephone and face-to-face support and runs the Drugs in Breastmilk Helpline.

Story

This years 'Mums Milk Run' event is themed around 'Support and Stories'. Peer support has been a central part of my own breastfeeding story and featured when my baby was just 4 days old.

The BfN supported me, trained me as a peer supporter and continues to mentor me to help others.  Now it's time for me to give back locally and volunteer at a weekly drop-in group in Presteigne.

Presteigne breastfeeding drop-in will launch on Wednesday 24th June at the Youth Centre - 1:30pm-3pm - and I hope local mums will visit and offer their breastfeeding story to be shared as part of the Mums Milk Run week.

The money raised will contribute towards the hire cost of the venue and for the amazing work the BfN does nationally .

Many thanks for your support,

Anthea
