As Ambassador for the Abigail's Footsteps charity I believe I should lead by example and offer my support where I am able. Undertaking physical challenges has always been a passion but I like to push the boundaries. In 2022 it was physical,  running a half marathon and completing an "alternative" triathlon in the Abigail Bear costume. In 2023 the boundaries are both mental and physical.

When running the London Marathon around the streets of London with cheering crowds and 1000's of other runners you get carried on a wave of emotion and adrenaline, so this year I am challenging myself to run without the crowds and the other runners. Running the virtual London Marathon in the countryside where the Cutty Sark will be a rowing boat on a reservoir, Mudchute will be a muddy track, and The Mall will be a reservoir wall towards a Mr Whippy ice-cream van! I will not only have to face the physical efforts of 26.2 miles but also the mental challenge of motivating myself when the going gets tough. I enjoy a challenge!

Abigail's Footsteps help in many ways, from creating sympathetic space for parents in hospitals, to providing much needed equipment for parents to spend longer with their babies whilst also offering specialist baby loss counselling sessions.
