So I've decided to run Rat Race 17 in '17 this year for the charity When you wish upon a star. I have chosen this charity due to the amazing things they do for poorly children and their families, just to put a smile on their faces. One of those families being mine, our son has a life limited illness called Hypoplastic left heart syndrome and has under gone 3 open heart surgeries within the space of 4 years but despite this he is always smiling and making others laugh, we truly are blessed to have such a wonderful little boy who takes everything in his stride. Last year When you wish upon a star put a huge smile on our little boys face by sending him and his mom to spend a magical fun filled day in Lapland and to meet the big man himself...Santa! It was such a great day to see all the children enjoying just being children. They do this as well as so many other great things for many children all with different life limiting illnesses with no other reason than to make others smile, but the trips and activities all come at a cost and When you wish upon a star is a charity that is based purely on fundraising so all I ask is that you make a donation no matter how big or small so this wonderful charity can continue to making a difference to families that sometimes just need something to look forward to.

These challenges will be varying races ranging from a 10k obstacle to a 69 mile ultra marathon.
