Story
Assede Emeline has a dream to protect Benin’s remaining forests and wildlife for the benefit of the people of her country and indeed the planet. The forests are under increasing threat from over-exploitation and poaching yet they are also the lifeblood for local communities who depend on them for their survival. The challenge is huge.
To help her achieve her dreams, Emeline has been selected from 400 applicants to attend the Tropical Biology Association’s prestigious field course in Kirindy Forest in Madagascar. The course is specially designed for aspiring guardians of the environment to teach them the skills they need for biodiversity conservation on the ground. Experts will guide Emeline in practical solutions to conserving forests and wildlife while ensuring local communities benefit from these precious natural resources. After her month of intensive and practical training, Emeline will return to Benin armed with the knowledge and international contacts she needs to make a real difference to her conservation work back home.
Please help Emeline fulfill her dreams by raising US$6,500 to travel to Madagascar for this transformational course. With your support, we can make Emeline the conservation champion that Benin urgently needs to protect its forests now and for future generations.
Ps: Emeline is a girl's name meaning “peaceful home”
