Outlaw Nottingham · 25 July 2021

£10,000 can fund Grief Encounters programme of therapeutic workshops where children are supported creatively through art, drama, music and play therapy.

Story

On 25 July, I will be attempting my first Ironman triathlon event, the Outlaw Nottingham!

I started participating in short distance triathlons six years ago, and this event is a culmination of six years of hard work and training.

The journey up to this point has been epic. Like all of us, I have had to navigate my way through the pandemic (I was originally slated to do my first Ironman in 2020 but it had to be deferred), and suffered a nasty back injury in February of this year. I also lost my mum a couple of years ago just at the time I was contemplating going for the full distance, which makes this event all the more poignant.

If I can get to the start line injury free, that will be an achievement in its own right. If I can get to the finishing line and raise lots of money for charity, then that will be an even bigger accomplishment!

Many thanks for your donation to this fantastic cause, and thank you for all your support.
