Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

People are usually expecting you to sweat for their donation when these fundraising stories get sent around. Marathons, half marathons, 10k runs, cycling over the Pennines, walking back via Yorkshire Dales - you know, that sort of thing.

But winter is coming, its cold and dark and I'm in no fit state to be riding my bike to Macclesfield and back to get ready for some monumental physical struggle that will some how change me. Nuts to that.

I am going to put myself through the wringer though - I've challenged myself to try and make an audience of 400 people laugh at the absolute dribble I write and then unload on unwitting friends.

All in the name of Cancer Research UK, I have pledged to raise money and sell tickets for a fantastic event taking place on the evening of Friday 20th December 2019 at Bowlers Exhibition Centre, somewhere round the back of the Trafford Centre. I've not been yet, but in my head it will be like Phoenix Nights...

'Work' begins this week. First job is to decipher my own handwriting and make some legible lines, and then I'll be politely asking for your support,  before making you feel guilty about not helping, before finally just screaming at you to just give me cash, damn it. It's a process.

If you would like to come and see the show tickets are available here at £20 a head, but it promises to be a fantastic energetic night just before Christmas, with a number of other far more professional acts than me:

When you buy a ticket, please add that you a friend or family member of mine as I have a ticket quota to reach.

If you just want to offer a small contribution, then that would be more than enough too. We all know someone who has had to fight cancer, and we are all well aware of the wider effect this has on friends and family who often pull together and keep each other smiling through these times.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks very much, you've been wonderful....
